ADHD-Not Otherwise Specified (NOS) was used in earlier editions of the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-1 through DSM-4) to denote conditions that don’t meet the full criteria for any specific disorder within a particular category. However, the NOS designation was largely replaced in DSM-V with other terms that aim to be more descriptive.
